Just as the rain was ending around noon I stopped by Snow Bunting peninsula near Old Hickory Lake Dam in Davidson County just north of Nashville. I was able to get photo's of the lone American Avocet along with five Willet's (western sub-species to Chris Sloan's earlier comment), and my first TN record Marbled Godwit. Other highlights were several Spotted Sandpipers, a single Common Loon, a Caspian Tern, a Laughing Gull, several Ring-billed's, and a lone Herring Gull. The link shows photo's of a number of the birds. A good stop today. Thanks to those who have posted before about these birds! http://www.pbase.com/birdom/old_hickory_lake_birds Mike O'Malley Clarksville, TN =================NOTES TO SUBSCRIBER===================== The TN-Bird Net requires you to SIGN YOUR MESSAGE with first and last name, CITY (TOWN) and state abbreviation.
