Mud Island-Dacus and Loosahatchie Bar
Shelby Co. TN

Another hour or so early Thursday morning found lots of Tree, Rough-winged
and a few Barn Swallows plus Chimney Swifts still plying their trades. Two
ring-billed Gulls and one Caspian Tern traded by going south but 3 Forster's
Terns bucked the trend and steadily flew north into the wind and out of sight?

Two groups of Pied-billed Grebes plopped in an eddy behind one of the levees
and started splashing and preening after a long nights journey. Only a total
of 12 birds but once I had over 100 fly in on top of me, one foggy morning
on Dacus Bar, when it was more accessible.

Higher up DC Cormorants and Blue-winged Teal passed south along with 1
Cooper's, 1 Broad-winged and an immature and adult Bald Eagle. A single Osprey
sat
in a dead snag either having just had breakfast or waiting for an
opportunity............

Good Birding !!!
