[TN-Bird] NTOS Shelby Park and Bottoms field trip results

Shelby Park and Bottoms
Davidson Co.
 
NTOS members enjoyed a nice morning at Shelby Park, totaling 52 species at  
Mission Hill and Phase 1 of Shelby Bottoms combined.  Ten warbler species  were 
seen or heard (some not as cooperative as we would have liked).  We  had an 
interesting aerial display of a Ruby-throated Hummingbird repeatedly  buzzing a 
Carolina Wren.  Birds of interest included:
 
double-crested cormorant - 10 flying over
red-shouldered hawk
lesser yellowlegs - in standing water on the grass on the north side  of 
Sevier Lake.

ruby-throated hummingbird
eastern phoebe
great crested flycatcher
eastern kingbird
white-eyed vireo
purple martin 
tree swallow
n. rough-winged swallow
barn swallow
blue-gray gnatcatcher
brown thrasher
blue-winged warbler

black-throated green
yellow-throated
prairie
palm
common yellowthroat
field sparrow
white-throated sparrow
blue grosbeak
indigo bunting
