Hi all,

Eight members of NTOS shared an unforgetable day at the
Big Sandy Unit of Tn. NWR today. Eighteen species of water-
fowl were seen and their total numbers are mind boggling.
A single raft of Canvasbacks at Briton Ford contained 350+
birds.

Some notable sightings include ten Sparrow species, Brewer's
and Rusty Blackbirds and thousands of gulls (Bonapartes,Ring-bills
and a great looking juv. Lesser Black-back).

As the sun went down we watched Bald Eagles coming in to roost.
An even fifty were counted, either on the roost or approaching
it.

Total species on this great day was sixty-five.
