I had the following species (among others) in Hornbeak, Obion Co. on
Saturday, April 13 during a non-birding visit
(yea right!):

Green Heron*
Blue-gray Gnatcatcher*
Wood Thrush*
Gray Catbird*
Blue-headed Vireo*
Yellow-throated Vireo*
White-eyed Vireo*
Northern Parula*
Chestnut-sided Warbler*
Yellow-rumped Warbler
Indigo Bunting*
Pileated Woodpecker - a pair at a nest site
Red-headed Woodpecker - no less than 20
Eastern Phoebe
Cedar Waxwing

* = the first for spring for me.

I had a Lark Sparrow just east of Eaton in Gibson County yesterday (Sunday,
April 14) as well as my first Dickcissel of the year.

I had my first Grasshopper Sparrow of the year in a field just north of
Central, Gibson County yesterday as well.

And finally I forgot to report previously that I had first Tennessee
Warbler singing in the yard on Thursday, April 11.

Good birding,

Mark Greene
Trenton, TN
