Walter S. Davis Blvd Marsh Davidson Co. Nashville, TN 2011 March 14 7:15 am cloudy A stop Monday morning on my way to work at the marsh on Walter S. Davis Blvd (behind Tenn. St. Univ.and near the Cumberland River) produced my first of the season NORTHERN ROUGH-WINGED SWALLOW. According to the 4th Edition of the "Birds of the Nashville Area" the sighting tied the early arrival date for that species in the Nashville area. Four species of water fowl continue with plenty of GADWALL, GREEN-WINGED TEAL, AMERICAN COOTs and some N. SHOVELERs in attendance at the very water-logged marsh.
