As a result the Ol' Coot's reports of the current mass migration of shorebirds along the Mississippi, Saturday and Sunday I visited the manmade lake in Bellevue that is next to the Harpeth River at the corner of Old Harding and Morton Mill Road. It is a heck of a lot shorter drive for me than a visit to the Pits, but the rewards are limited! On Saturday I was pleasantly surprised to see a bit of mud flats and the following birds despite heavy equipment removing dirt right next to the lake.
