East Tennessee has another popular new hotspot, this one in Monroe County: “New
Hope Rd Sod Farm (permission required)”. Quite a few birders have been to this
spot in the last couple days to view shorebirds but since the hotspot is so
new, few have used it to report their lists.
If you have birded this area and would like your sightings to be included in
the hotspot, you can easily move your checklist by opening it, selecting “Edit
Location” near its top and choosing “Nearby Location on a Map”. This will open
a map with a bunch of teardrop markers; click on a marker to show its name.
Once you've found the correct marker (it will be a big red one), simply choose
“Continue” and your checklist is moved.
Do remember to obtain the landowner's permission before going on to this
private property.
