The following is an e-mail I received from Chris Cunningham, owner of the Wife
Saver restaurant chain, regarding his grassroots campaign to change the state
bird of Georgia from the Brown Thrasher to the chicken. I had corrected him on
the fact that their website says there are no thrashers in Georgia in the
winter. By the way, for those of you who were wondering if he was serious about
this whole campaign thing - he is, it's not a joke.
Good birding,

Mark Greene

Subject: Flip the birds

Mark,
Thanks for the heads up on the thrasher info.  We'll check out the websites
and try to make everything correct.  We are serious about changing the bird and
were trying to have a little fun with the site at the same time.  We are
getting some statewide attention so who knows what might happen.  Constructive
criticism is always welcome. Have a good weekend.  If you come to Augusta,  try
our fried chicken at  any of 8 locations of Wife Saver. Voted  best in Augusta
for 28 straight  years.
Thanks,  Chris
