TN-Birders, This morning, I opened the French doors to my deck only to hear the great sounds of a lone veery from the tree behind the deck here in the Charlotte Park section of West Nashville, Davidson County, a few blocks from the Cumberland River. I soon found the bird, which, very UNusually, was perched in an open "window" amongst the leaves of a hackberry tree. It was gaily singing away and provided a real thrill as it is a new yard bird. Since I don't have a "thrush" yard, this being my first of the "brown" thrushes, I am really surprised. Being so close to the river seems to give me some advantage in attracting unusual birds occasionally as they seem to like to follow water routes and sometimes seem to get a block or so "off course." T'was a good beginning for the day! Cheers & prayers, Dee Thompson Nashville, TN =================NOTES TO SUBSCRIBER===================== The TN-Bird Net requires you to sign your messages with first and last name, city (town) and state abbreviation. ----------------------------------------------------- ---------------------------------------------------- To post to this mailing list, simply send email to: tn-bird@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx ----------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, send email to: tn-bird-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with 'unsubscribe' in the Subject field. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * TN-Bird Net is owned by the Tennessee Ornithological Society Neither the society(TOS) nor its moderator(s) endorse the views or opinions expressed by the members of this discussion group.
