Oak Ridge Rowing Club on Melton Hill Lake
Oak Ridge, TN
Anderson County
1:40 pm, 3/2/15

Initially checked out the Clinch River at the Solway boat ramps off Edgemoor
Road near Oak Ridge. Most of the ducks had dispersed as the ice and snow have
melted. Did find 11 Canvasbacks but little else.

Returning home, I checked out the waters beside the old marina along Melton
Lake Drive (intersection with Emory Valley Road) where the Oak Ridge Rowing
Association is located. In the middle of the channel away from the coots and
Canada Geese, I found one Surf Scoter and one White-winged Scoter. The sun was
behind me and they cooperated with preening and much flapping. It was exciting
to see something of interest in this location as it is normally has the same
group of geese and coots.
