A male PAINTED BUNTING visited our yard this afternoon about 30 mins. ago.
It was spotted in the garden, then it checked out the feeders and flew off
seconds later. Needless to say, I was THRILLED to see it (I've been looking
for this bird for years). This is the first sighting in our yard (I've lived
here 15 years). The painted buntings usually can be spotted in Memphis near
Ensley Wastewater treatment plant, aka The Pitts, which is approx. 25-30
miles away.
