While birding with my family this past Sunday, February 6, 2011 at Chester Frost Park in Hixson, TN (Hamilton Co.), I observed a juvenile Peregrine Falcon on a sand bar just out from the far end of the parking lot near the boat launch. It was tearing apart and eating a bird with dark feathers (probably a coot). Later, while birding around the round building in the camping loop, we observed a Coopers Hawk dive after a Robin that was feeding on the ground. Good day for predator action!
