March 2nd, 2016, Bruton Branch, Hardin County
I was working 15 minutes from Bruton today, so I found a few minutes to
run by there this evening. (4:00 p.m.)
Perfect viewing conditions, with mild temperature and no wind made
everything on the lake IDable.
Many Common Loons were loafing on the water, and I soon found an adult
PACIFIC LOON among them, complete with chinstrap.
15 minutes of additional glassing produced what I knew was there, an
adult RED-THROATED LOON, popping up in front of me briefly for my first
3-loon day at Pickwick.
Good birding! Ruben Stoll, Centerville TN
