The male Pine Warbler that I mentioned had started coming to our feeders last week hasn't missed a day since and, today, brought his better-half along with him. He sings almost constantly and seems to have set up their territory with our lot at the center which is strange to me as there are only a handful of small pines in our part of the woods. They may still move up the road to the pine thicket when it comes time to actually get down to nesting I guess. Or maybe competition and Pine Beetle devastation has forced them to accept a less suitable habitat. The Am Goldfinches and Yellow-rumped Warblers are beginning to get their spring colors. The local Red-tails were carrying sticks a few weeks ago and were doing courtship flights this weekend. The woodpeckers have been chasing each other for weeks now and the Chickadees and Bluebirds are checking out accommodations.
