Tuesday 11-8-11
While doing a Fall assessment of my Bluebird Trail at Port Royal, I decided to
do a little birding along the trail as well.
The weather was nice, but a little on the windy side.
The highlight was some really good looks at a Ruby-crowned and Golden-crowned
Kinglet harrassing each other over whatever food there was to find. Other birds
seen were:
Red-tailed Hawk
American Pipit (in the cut fields on the way over)
American Crow
Turkey Vulture
Black Vulture
Eastern Meadowlark
Blueb Jay
Red-bellied Woodpecker
Carolina Wren
Carolina Chickadee
Northern Cardinal
White-breasted Nuthatch
Downy Woodpecker
Tufted Titmouse
American Goldfinch
Song Sparrow
Wild Turkey
Northern Flicker
Yellow-rumped Warbler
Yellow-bellied Sapsucker
Pileated Woodpecker
Golden-crowned Kinglet
Ruby-crowned Kinglet
Eastern Bluebird

Not bad for just spur of the moment birding.
