Thanks for all of your comments. It seems it is now confirmed it is a juvenile female cooper's. I was meeting someone for work by the stadium when this happened, and I happened to have my camera in the car. I shot a short HD video also, which I may try to post on youtube, but it is pretty gruesome. I've attached another picture of this hawk, and a picture of a juvenile male cooper's hawk I saw in front of Mt. Olivet Cemetery on Lebanon Rd. on October 18 with a blue-jay kill. I know about reversed size dimorphism in raptors, but the "stadium hawk" seemed enormous compared to the "cemetery hawk" I thought it must be a different species.
