Hello everyone,
For those who are planning to go to Newton Illinois to see the Prairie
Chickens, we were told that if it is rainy or foggy, there would be no reason
to try to come.
As far as I can tell, it will be very cold, but not rainy. I do not think there
will be fog.
So the trip is on! I hope you can join us!
If anyone needs more information, just send an email with “Prairie Chickens” in
the subject line. We need to be there before Sunrise, which is at Newton
Illinois is about a four hour drive from most parts of greater Nashville. We
need to be in place at Prairie Ridge State Natural Area, 4295 N. 1000th St.,
Newton, IL, 62448 a half hour before daybreak. Sunrise is 6:26 a.m. so we would
aim to be in place about 6:00 a.m.. Bring a telescope if you have one,
binoculars and dress for the weather.
