Nov. 11, 2011 Percy Priest Lake, Davidson Co. TN 12:30 - 2:30 PM I had been planning to check Priest Lake for winter arrivals today anyway, so Terry Witt's Merlin sighting in Murfreesboro yesterday was an encouraging sign. Two females Merlins were seen today, one at Bryant Grove section of Long Hunter SP and one at the traditional spot (in the "Merlin tree") at Anderson Rd. Rec. Area. This is the earliest I have seen one there, but timing seems about right. There was one large raft of ducks west from Anderson Rd Rec Area, mostly Ring-necked Ducks, with some Gadwall and Horned Grebes mixed in (I was without scope) and 20+ Com. Loons. This raft will be broken up by boat traffic tomorrow, but nice to see a bunch of ducks on the lake. Richard Connors Nashville
