Odd goings-on this winter. I had siskins about when you did, but they
all vanished after about three weeks; haven't seen one since. Still
seeing 8-10 purple finches. Early on, I had two white-crowned sparrows,
a first for me in 38 years of feeding birds at three different
locations. Also had a hairy woodpecker make at least two visits to the
suet, also a first ever. Swamp sparrow made a few visits a couple weeks
ago - not a first, but pretty unusual.
