Dear all If you can spare a moment TODAY, please call or email the Governor. TOS is part of the "Forever Green Tennessee" effort, which makes sure that funds collected from the Real Estate Transfer Tax are protected and used to purchase land in the state. We have just learned that Governor Haslam will release his AMENDED budget next Tuesday, May 3. While we feel good about the chances of the Tennessee Real Estate Transfer Funds staying in the FY 2011-12 Budget (as they were included in his first proposed budget), a few hundred calls or e-mails wouldn't hurt! Please call (615-741-2001) or e-mail ( bill.haslam@xxxxxx) RIGHT NOW and 1. THANK him for including the Real Estate Transfer Funds in his original budget; 2. URGE him to KEEP them in his amended budget, which is scheduled to be released next week. As usual, time is of the essence, so please take just a few moments and do this now. Approximately $16 million for land acquisition, conservation and protection is at stake! The amended budget is set to go to the printer ANY DAY NOW, so please act promptly. If you need more information about the Real Estate Transfer Funds, their history or usage, or how they've benefitted your community, please visit our "facts" page on the Forever Green Tennessee blog: http://forevergreentn.wordpress.com/pdfs/ THANK YOU for your help!!
