Radnor Lake State Natural Area Davidson County Nashville, TN Another gorgeous fall day mandated a morning foray to Radnor Lake on Thursday, where I walked my usual route from the west parking lot to Long Bridge and Back. Migrant flocks included 9 NORTHERN FLICKERs, clearly a major movement, and plenty of BLUE JAYs and AM. ROBINs. Several water birds were also in evidence as listed below. Numbers of warblers had decreased from yesterday but still provided significant interest as I found another immature female MOURNING WARBLER, this one at "willow point" near the dam and ranger's house. At 8 am the bird gave great looks from the bench area at the point, and when I returned 90 minutes later and did a soft pish or two, it reappeared and produced additional superb views. Unfortunately, my camera is in the shop to be fixed so I had no chance to take a photo. Also found were 2 or possibly 3 ORANGE-CROWNED WARBLERs.
