Radnor Lake State Natural Area
Davidson Co.
Nashville, TN
2009 October 1
7:05-9:40am
clear and cool

This Thursday morning I walked from the west parking lot to Long Bridge
and back. There was plenty of warbler action, even better than
yesterday. My first warbler was one of the drabest GOLDEN-WINGED's
that I have seen. I finished the morning with 12 warbler species.
TENNESSEE, MAGNOLIA, BLACK-THROATED GREEN, and AM. REDSTARTs were
very plentiful. Four species of Vireos were seen including
PHILADELPHIA and YELLOW-THROATED. ROSE-BREASTED GROSBEAK
numbers were down from the past 2 days. A flock of 12 WILD
TURKEYs was feeding just past bench 19. I found no
migrating winter ducks or grebes but did NOT have the best
vantage point to check all of the lake.

Birds of interest included:
Wood Duck 17
Wild Turkey 12
Green Heron 1
Killdeer 1
Chimney Swift 50+
