I birded Rankin Bottoms (Cocke County) today from about 4:30 to 6:30.
Started slow but birds continued to arrive. Shorebird highlights.
American Avocet - 1
Wilson's Phalarope - 1
Buff-breasted Sandpipers - 8 (feeding in a group about 10 yards from
shoreline
American Golden Plover - 1
Short-billed Dowitcher - 1
Solitary Sandpiper - 1
Greater Yellowlegs - 2
Lesser Yellowlegs - 13
Semipalmated Plover - 5
Pectoral Sandpiper - 15
All 3 peeps
Caspian Tern - 5
