If anyone is interested, I have posted a number of photos of a gorgeous
juvenile Red Phalarope that has been at Mallard Lake (BIg Lake NWR) in
extreme northeast AR the past few days. The light was terrible the 3 hours
Gail King and I were with the bird yesterday morning, so most shots are at
ISO 1600 and f/5.6. But, the bird was cooperative (tame) enough that it
didn't really matter. At times the bird was within my minimum focusing
distance of 11 feet!

I have created a new gallery for this bird:

Or, the 1st image starts here:
http://www.pbase.com/mctodd/image/117993979/original Be sure the images are
viewed at the original size, not the large. There is very little difference
in the size of the images, but the large setting is heavily compressed and
takes a lot of sharpness away.

Otherwise, not much else to report. I did have a couple of 1st-year
Franklin's Gulls on Reelfoot Lake when I made a loop thru that area on the
way home.

Good Birding!!
