3-11-2012 Radnor Lake Davidson Co. This morning I walked all the way around the lake and had a few surprises. There were 11 species of waterfowl, including 3 Redheads (two males and one female) by the spillway bridge and a lone Horned Grebe. I counted 200+ Lesser Scaup, a very large number for Radnor Lake. There were also several Wood Ducks. Wild Turkeys were gobbling in a few areas, a Barred Owl called out, and there were two Winter Wrens, one at Long Bridge and the other by the boardwalk where the Lake Trail meets the road at the east end. Several species of wildflowers have come up since I was there last, especially along the road. Jan Shaw Nashville, TN
