[TN-Bird] Red-necked Grebe South Holston Lake

South Holston Lake
Sullivan Co., TN
Shortly after noon today (11/16) we found a Red-necked Grebe
at Musick's Campground.
Today's grebe was found by Wallace Coffey, Don Holt, Rack
Cross and later seen by Dwayne Martin, Howard Langridge,
Reece Jamerson and Rick Knight.
Later in the afternoon, it had moved a few hundred yards up
South Holston Lake and was in Washington County, Virginia
just offshore of the county campground in the Spring Creek
Embayment.
This is the first records for this species since it was found
during the invasion years of 1994 (Boone Lake, Elizabethton,
South Holston Lake) and 1996 (Watauga Lake, Boone Lake,
South Holston Lake).
