I usually just lurk, but I think we are close enough to TN to contribute on
this. We have had what I feel is the same pair of red-shouldereds nest in
our yard for four years. My husband feeds them chicken livers and gizzards.

They have not begun obvious courtship yet, although they have come down
together to feed. Usually they begin by sitting on the same branch and there
is feeding of the female by the male.

Last year we had three fledglings who were like large feathered puppies. On
one unforgettable afternoon, one took a bath in the pool, sitting on the top
cement step and thrashing about and tossing water and having a great time of
it. A sibling, seated about four feet away on dry land saw him having so
much fun and repeated the same "bathing" motions, but on completely dry
cement.

They also took to sitting in the birdbath and the bird feeder, much to the
consternation of the smaller birds.
