[TN-Bird] Results of Hamilton County National Migration Count, May 11.

The Hamilton County National Migration Count was held on May 11, 27
participants found 141 species which is a little below average.

 

Highlights included:

9 Forster's Terns

2 American Bitterns

2 Semipalmated Plovers

50 Semipalmated Sandpipers

1 BLACK-BILLED CUCKOO always a rare Hamilton County bird.

42 Whip-poor-wills

3 Veery

1Gray-cheeked Thrush

2 Black-throated Blue Warblers

1 White-crowned Sparrow

2 Dickcissal

 

Misses:

Only one Great Egret

Yellow-crowned Night Heron

Virginia Rail

Sharp-shinned Hawk

Northern Bobwhite

Barred Owl

Common Nighthawk

Prothonotary Warbler

Grasshopper Sparrow
