We had a small but nice group of participants at the Jay Walk at Sharp's Ridge
yesterday morning and saw a fairly decent number of resident and early migrant
species. Of note was a single Common Nighthawk zigzagging over the trees, a
Northern Flicker on the ground that allowed for close and exciting looks, and
seven species of warbler: Nashville, Tennessee (see what I did there?),
Chestnut-sided, Magnolia, American Redstart, Black-and-white, and possibly a
Blackburnian (tiny bird, big leafy tree, shadows... hey, it happens! Even to
me, if you can believe it. :) ).
