Carver's Gap on Roan Mtn, Carter Co., TN
Rufous Hummingbird - 1, adult male, defending a patch of orange
jewel-weed near the new restroom.
This is one of very few Rufous reports in Tenn that were away from
feeders. I saw a female-type Selasphorus sp. at this same site a
few years ago.
Hope it stays for the Roan Mtn Naturalists' Rally on Saturday.
