Happy St. Patrick¹s Day Tn-birders. As coordinator for TN for the Rusty Blackbird Blitz I wanted to give you an update on the happenings so far and then a reminder of how you can still show that volunteer spirit by getting out there and looking for Rusties during these last 2 weeks in March. As of this morning there were 1151 checklists with Rusty observations submitted to eBird and 554 checklists submitted under the Rusty Blackbird Spring Migration Blitz protocol. So far Virginia is leading the pack and Georgia is close behind in numbers of checklists submitted. At least 50 checklist reports of Rusty Blackbirds have come in from Tennessee Remember this year there is a DUAL focusRevisiting areas of interest where you found good numbers of Rusties last year AND also birding Rusty habitat in general. Reports of ³no² Rusties in those areas is as valuable as finding them. So let¹s get out therego birding and don¹t forget to report your findings. The ³official² Blitz period for TN ends on March 31stbut continue to report any Rusty Blackbirds on going. Thanks! <") ( \ / |` Cyndi Routledge TN Rusty Blackbird Blitz Coordinator
