Yesterday (November 3rd) at Forks of the River WMA in Knoxville I had three FOS
birds: Rusty Blackbird, Purple Finch, and Brown Creeper. Other highlights
included lots of sparrows (Field, Song, Swamp, White-throated, White-crowned),
Winter Wren, Yellow-bellied Sapsucker, both kinglets, a singing Hermit Thrush,
and so many goldfinches that if the birds were actual gold, I'd be one rich
dude. The pair of Red-headed Woodpeckers I typically see in the trees across
the river were not present but I'm hopeful they're still around.
