MTSU Ponds / Oaklands Park / Stones River National Battlefield
9/16/12
Did some birding around Murfreesboro today. The highlight was a Marsh Wren in
the cattails at the southwest corner of the north MTSU pond. Other highlights:
MTSU PONDS
2 Pied-billed Grebes on the north pond
STONES RIVER NB
Magnolia Warbler
Black-and-white Warbler
Common Yellowthroat
Chestnut-sided Warbler
Kentucky Warbler
OAKLANDS PARK
A pair of Baltimore Orioles. I've been to this location twice and seen
Baltimore Orioles both times, which, given the general rarity of the species in
this county, seems like probably not a coincidence. I wonder if they bred there
this year...
