No sign of the Painted Buntings reported on e-bird at the junction of Hwy 99
and Cason Lane.
The habitat looks good, but I am unaware of any nesting records in the state
away from areas near the Mississippi River.
A friend who lives near me here in Murfreesboro had a male Painted Bunting
visiting his feeder several years ago. I tried several times without success
to see it; this was a fall sighting, which would seem a more likely time of
year.
