Chad Smith and I observed the Swallow-tailed Kites yesterday morning in Sequatchie Valley.
There was a heavy fog
early, which lifted about 0930.
The first group of 3 appeared at 0945, closely followed by another group of 3 birds.
They appeared to be roosting in a copse of trees behind the slaughterhouse and a bit north of the property.
When I left, the original 3 birds were working their way south along the road
I was asked to not park behind the slaughterhouse on the crest of the hill which affords a more panoramic view - reason? At any rate, we should accept any limitations the owners request, just passing it along
Cheers
