TN-Birders, Nancy Moore, Ed McManis, and I watched the Sage Thrasher for about 15 minutes today at 11:15 am, November 25, as it sat in the top of a low shrub apparently digesting its breakfast(it appeared to regurgitate a few orange bittersweet berries). It was about 100' from where it was on Sunday, the same 2 acres or so where it has most often been seen and photographed. I will lead another trip there on Saturday. These are the details: Saturday, Nov. 29 at 10:30 am Meet me at 10:30 at the AmSouth Bank (Bearden Branch) parking lot at 6100 Kingston Pike at the intersection of Northshore Dr. and Kingston Pike. From I-40 take the Papermill Rd exit (exit 383) and take Northshore Dr. over to the first light at Kingston Pike. Cross Kingston Pike and turn right into the bank parking lot. We will caravan and carpool from here. I'm pushing back the time because we seem to be having the best luck between 11:00am and 1:30 pm.
