This morning I finally had sandhill cranes fly over my yard in Smyrna. I was out in the yard watching a pair of adult cooper's hawks flying around between weeding, etc. and noticed a group of large birds in the distance, flying in a V. Fortunately, I had binocs nearby and got a nice view of the group of 22 Sandhill Cranes flying north. They were fairly distant, but I could hear them at one point over the ambient road noise and neighbors chainsaw. A nice addition to my yard list!
