My wife and I hiked a couple of the trails at Savage Gulf SP in Grundy Co. on Sunday afternoon. Although it was afternoon, quite warm, and breezy, we had a nice mix of sporadically singing migrants. The most common bird on the 6+ miles of trails was Black-throated Green Warbler with about 20 total birds (obviously not very birdy!). Black-and-white warblers were regular, as were Blue-headed Vireos. A few pine warblers, yellow-throated warblers, and northern parula's were around as well. One calling Red-breasted Nuthatch was a nice find. Good birding, Scott Somershoe State Ornithologist Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency P.O.
