Twelve people in 4-6 parties found 100 species in Savannah yesterday. Best
birds were 4 Virginia Rails at three different locations in the Walker Branch
SNA. Common Yellowthroat, Marsh and Sedge Wrens were also found at Walker
Branch. Other nice finds included Sandhill Cranes, Barn Owl, 2 House Wrens, a
Blue-headed Vireo, and an Orange-crowned Warbler. Brown-headed Nuthatches
continue to expand in the area and were found in 5 different locations. One
Red-breasted Nuthatch was found near Pickwick SP. Waterfowl was missing. Low
numbers on species recorded and several species missed. Both accipiters were
missed, as were Bonaparte's Gulls.
