Harpeth River Greenway Morton Mill Road, Davidson Co., Bellevue, TN 2014 Sep. 28 Sunday morning I walked the Harpeth River Greenway under very heavy overcast skies. Just past the HRMM 1 mile post I checked out a couple birds that flew into the top of a tree. In addition to a robin there was a second bird that made me click through it characteristics to be sure it was not one of the numerous mockingbirds in the area. But indeed, with its whitish head, pale pinkish orangesides and lower breast plus very long thin forked tail, it was a SCISSOR-TAILED FLYCATCHER. I watched it for about 10 minutes as it
perched most of the time on a bare snag. I left to walk to the far end of my walk and when I returned about 10-15 minutes later I could not refind it.
