This morning I birded in Rutherford Co. and found some very nice year
birds. On Lytle Creek Rd. there was one male Scissor-tailed Flycatcher on
the split rail fence at the first driveway. I stayed in the car and was 10
feet away from it; gorgeous! No others were seen along that road or Couch
Rd. There was a Prairie Warbler singing on Welchance Rd. which is an
extension of Lytle Creek Rd. to the east.
I also went to Murfree Springs Wetland in Murfreesboro and enjoyed two
Yellow-crowned Night-Herons close to the walkway, singing Prothonotary and
Yellow warblers, and the Sora that's been there for several days. It was
about 20 yards past the tall tower foraging in the water. Only four other
people at the wetland.
