[TN-Bird] Scissor-tailed Flycatchers, Hardin County

This morning I found a pair of scissor-tailed flycatchers a short ways below
Savannah, in Hardin County, near the Tennessee River. I had gone into this
flat agricultural habitat in hopes of finding this species. To reach the site
where I saw the birds: Go south out of Savannah on Hwy. 128. A couple of
miles south of town, note Hopewell Baptist Church on the right (west). Turn
right (west) on Diamond Island Lane 0.3 miles past the church. A short ways
in, take the left fork onto Pittsburgh Landing Road. The pavement expires one
mile from 128. At 1.7 miles after the end of pavement, cross Mud Creek with a
bog on the left. In another 0.2 miles, the road makes a sharp left at a line
of trees extending away from the road to the north. The flycatchers were about
50 yards from the road in this line of trees at first sighting. DeLorme p. 17,

I actually got into the area from the southern end of Pittsburgh Landing Rd in
the Bethel community. The turn off 128 is marked as "First Pittsburg Road" on
the street sign. While still westbound on this road, I intersected a kettle of
six Mississippi kites.
