Visited Seven Islands refuge (Knox Co.) yesterday afternoon. I saw between 11 and 15 Tree Swallows (first of season) and got a new bird for myself for the refuge in Redhead. There were 5 males and 1 female on the far side of the river between the riverside bench and the gourd nests/ osprey platform. Redhead was not on the bird checklist sign so not sure if they've been seen here before or not. Otherwise pretty quiet in the bright sunlight (suprisingly no raptors). There was also a first of season Zebra Swallowtail butterfly. Shane Williams Knoxville, TN
