Finally found a morning to get out to Sharps Ridge in Knoxville today (Friday 4/22). Hearing a Great Horned Owl before I got up and then a Kentucky Warbler when I let the dog out suggested it would be a good day. There were a few sprinkles early, then fairly bright until rain at 10:45. Highlights were several Cape May and Blackburnian Warblers, striking look at a male Tennessee Warbler, some nice blue Indigo Buntings, an orangish Scarlet Tanager, some very vocal Rose-breasted Grosbeaks, and one of the longest billed Hairy Woodpeckers I've ever seen. There always seemed to be something to look at, and although it seemed like I focused on a lot of yellow-rumps, the warbler variety was pretty good.
