A two hour trip to one of Knoxville's best birding hot spots,Sharp's Ridge produced some spring firsts for me this Mon.a.m.Blue-winged warbler,Hooded warbler,Scarlet tanager,Indigo bunting. Things are really starting to come to life on the "Ridge".There were lots of birds singing up there this morn, got great looks at the birds mentioned before, plus Yellow throated ,Black throated Green,Black and White warblers,Blue headed Vireos and White eyed Vireos. There will be field trips to Sharp's Ridge each Thursday morning for the next 4 consecutive Thurs. We will meet at the Rangers old house half way out the ridge at 8:00 a.m. sharp. The KTOS newsletter last month stated we would meet at the wooden platform, that was incorrect ; p.s.If you need directions feel free to call me at 6879956 after 6:00 p.m.everyone is invited.
