Hello TN Birders,
The immature Sharpie that has been making regular forays to my feeders this
winter was back again today. After chasing birds through the Viburnum bush
he/she flew into the cherry tree. The Sharpie didn't realize that a male
Downy was within four feet of him but behind a branch. The hawk sat there
and preened for at least a half hour, and the smart Downy didn't move except
to surreptitiously peek out. The Sharpie finally left without realizing that
lunch had been right under his nose/beak.

Also today our resident Brown Thrasher arrived for the season and took his
regular perch in the top of the apple tree where he began to sing.
Spring is great.
