Decided to drive around and look for Short Eared owls ,on my way to a Tourism meeting this evening ,right before dark and did find one on the Road off of 78 that is south of Black Bayou on the right going south, that goes over to New Markham area and the Tiptonville Dome.( That is the highest elevation in Lake Co and it was formed during the Great Earthquake of 1811-12) The owl was harassing a Great Blue Heron and the Heron finally flew away. While birding in White lake today I was swarmed by Lady Bugs. I have never seen so many. They were all over my clothing, and hair and I know I walked 15 minutes until they disappeared. You could see them flying everywhere.
