Location: TN 1 Cvll, Peterson Lake Nature Center Observation date: 4/23/08 Notes: TOS-Memphis chapter held a Weds morning hike to Peterson Lake Nature Center Board Walk in Collierville this morning. Perfect day for a walk on the boardwalk. Sunny and temps cool slowly rising to the 80's. 8 hikers were greeted by a lot of bird noise activity in the Wolf River bottoms. 14 Warbler species. Prothonotary Warblers were singing away and chasing each other all over, many good looks. Good close up looks at several birds that normally are not seen except up high in the canopy. Lots of little catipillars in the lower trees this year. Participants, Jay Walko, Dick Preston, Jerry Papachristou, Chad Brown, Judy Dorsey, Carline Bullock, Sue Ferguson and David Hill.
