Dick Preston, Caroline Bullock, David & Betty Blaylock and Jay Walko. 1 mile walk, 1.5 mile car. Peterson Lake Nature Center/WC Johnson Park and and extended count vicinity. Rainy morning light rain continuously falling. Good morning for migrating birds even with the weather as bad as it was. Started off in parking lot with a flock of birds working through the trees. Warblers feeding, and cleaning in the wet leaves of the lower trees. We moved on to the main boardwalk and were met by several other flocks in various places. One section of boardwalk was teaming with Brown Thrashers on both sides shooting back and forth in front of us. Warbler flocks were all mixed flocks. Two House Wrens heard singing and finally coaxed out into view for good looks by all. West end of park entrance area provided a large roost of Mourning Doves on overhead wires over a undeveloped subdivision. Overhead a large V came towards the car, south migrating DC Cormorants (pictures obtained).
